2003/2004 Expenditure

This years Town Budget sees expenditure of $2,591,000 up by $400,000 from last financial year. This financial year will see some major works within the Weipa Township

• New Nanum subdivision
• Land sales by Comalco
• Several Duplex's Flats and Dwellings being built
• Stage 1 new Swimming Pool - cash reserve fund

Proposed Capital and Operational expenditure funded by Comalco during the 2004 budget includes Water Mains, Roads, Kerbing and Channelling and Sewerage Works. These works are substantial increases, which is up on previous years funding by Comalco.

There has been new Parks and Gardens, Plumbing and Road Maintenance contracts awarded this year. The committees objective was to ensure best $ value for the ratepayer on these new contracts.

2004/2005 Expenditure

This years Town Budget sees expenditure of $2,647,800 up by $200,00 from last financial year. This financial year will see some major works within the Weipa township

Kerbing and Channeling

Completion of Feasibility Study for Sports and Aquatic Complex

Completion of Urban Design study

Implementation of Enviromental Management Plan

Proposed Capital and Operation expenditure funded by Comalco during the 2005 budget includes Water Mains, Roads, Kerbing and Channeling and Sewerage works. These works are substantial increases, which is up on previous years funding by Comalco.

2005/2006 Expenditure

Expenditure of $3,061,300 will be incurred this year. This is up by some $400,000 from last financial year

This financial year will see some major works within the Weipa Township. These Being:

•  Tree planting and irrigation in line with Urban Design
• Continued upgrade of playground equipment
• Continue work on boat ramp upgrade
• Cemetery fencing and beautification
• Sport and Recreational Development Officer employed
• Upgrade of Computer and Phone system for Town Office
