Patsy Hudson is the Appointed Traditional Owner. Patsy is responsible for Heritage and Environment. She also assists Carrie Gay.
Patsy is a local girl, born in Cairns and grew up here in the cape. She spent her younger years on cattle stations were her father and mother worked. Patsy moved to Weipa with her grandparents, doing all her schooling in Weipa and Silkwood.
Patsy got her first job working in at local take-away food shop after school. Pasty left school in 1986 and had various jobs working with local councils in Mapoon and Napranum. Before getting a traineeship with Comalco as a mobile plant operator in the mine for nine months. In June 1995, Patsy was employed full time with Comalco at the ship loader as a fixed plant operator and has been with the company for nine years.
Patsy and her partner Dennis Emmett enjoy outdoor activities such as pigging,fishing,camping and motor bike riding. Patsy also enjoys such sports as softball,basketball and touch football.
Patsy comes to the committee not as a elected member but as a traditional owner representative, a position made available by Comalco in their agreement to have more local indigenous involvement in the Weipa township. Patsy has traditional ties to Algnith and Kaanju tribes on the cape.
