Think about
Securing loose items and outdoor furniture. The simplest household tool can cause serious damage if blown about in a high wind.
Windows and Doors: board up any exposed windows or tape across the glass with masking tape and secure all doors.
Your Vehicle: Make sure your vehicle is full of fuel in case an evacuation is necessary and secure it undercover.
Caravans and Campers: Evacuate from caravans and tents and find more substantial shelter.
Evacuation Transport: If you don't have a vehicle, make evacuation arrangements with a neighbour or friend.
Water: Fill drinking containers, your bathtub and wheelie bin with water. The water in the bin can be useful to flush toilets if water supplies are affected and will help keep the bin secure.
Refrigeration: Freeze water for alternative refrigeration should there be a power failure. In the event of power loss, limit opening the fridge.
Valuables: Place important documents, mementos and valuables in plastic bags or other waterproof containers and place in a secure location.
Listen to the Radio: Turn on your battery run radio, stay tuned and stay indoor.
Fill tinny with water and block up (blocks under suspension). Don't forget to put a bung in.
